Robert F. “Bob” Bleakney, the son of Ernest and Bessie (Preston) Bleakney, was born February 3, 1937 in Kellogg. He was a lifelong Newton area resident, and graduated from Newton High School.
Bob was united in marriage with Karen Wilson on December 7, 1979 in Newton. He farmed and also was a truck driver for several years. Bob was a member of the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and American League Post 111.
Bob died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing. He was preceded by his parents.
