Robert Bernard Allen, 80, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born in Orlando, FL on May 7, 1942, he was the son of the late Sarah Ferguson Allen and William C. Allen.
Mr. Allen worked in industrial maintenance at the Duke Power Buck Steam Plant for 25 years and was owner of Allen’s Automotive after his retirement. He was a very charitable man who enjoyed giving and helping people. He helped friends and family with all types of automobile issues and participated in Parents Without Partners. Mr. Allen was a member of The River Church of God. He was a Mason and a member of the Masonic Order of Spencer for a number of years. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Mr. Allen was very active in all events that were celebrated. He had a love for clogging and square dancing and also for nature, especially fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William C. Allen, Jr. and David R. Allen.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Robert Clyde Allen of Kernersville, NC; daughter, Elizabeth A. “Lisa” Reber (Stephen) of Statesville, NC; sister, Sarah Ruth Allen Wells; grandchildren, Cathryn Grace Reber and Stephen “Charlie” Reber, III.
