Robert Barrett Julian, 84, of Lexington passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at his residence.
Born in Rowan County on March 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Dorothy Schuler Julian and Hugh Culverhouse Julian.
Mr. Julian was a graduate of Boyden High School where he was a member of the 1955 3A State Champion football team. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and received the first place award in physical fitness. He retired from Stroh’s Brewery of Winston-Salem. Mr. Julian loved to make people laugh and was best known for creating nicknames for friends and family. Laughter was a big part of his life. He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Becky Broughton.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Johnny Dale Julian (Diane) of Winston-Salem; daughters, Kim Talley (Donnie) of Woodleaf and Ashlie Julian Fearnside (Shawn) of Mocksville; brothers, Hugh Julian (Glenna) of Surfside Beach, SC and Mike Julian of Hilton Head, SC; grandchildren, Justin Julian, Zeb Pugh, and Zalen Pugh; great-grandchildren, Raleigh Julian and Cadence Pugh; his precious dog and best friend, Jazzi and his 2 cats that meant a lot to him. He loved his companion Sharon Kinley.
