Robert Arthur Cuppett Sr., 80, of Kingwood, WV, died on Friday, February 19, 2016, at his daughter Marjorie’s home in McClellandtown, PA.

He was born July 6, 1935 in Markleysburg, PA, a son of the late Ralph Emerson and Pearl Marjorie (Myers) Cuppett.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Mountaineer Contractors for 20 years as a mechanic, and then worked for Bill Stone Excavating Company as a mechanic until 2013. Robert was a member of the Kingwood Baptist Church and of the Fort Butler VFW Post #826 in Kingwood. He enjoyed working and most of all, spending time with his family. The family would like to express a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice located in Masontown, PA.

He is survived by three sons and spouses, James Cuppett and companion, Carli Whetsell of Grafton, Jeffrey and Shawna Cuppett of Bridgeport, Robert and Rebecca Cuppett Jr. of McHenry, MD; three daughters and spouses, Barbara and Doug Rosenberger of Bruceton Mills, Connie and George Hillery of Kingwood, Marjorie and Jim Brangard of McClellandtown, PA; two sisters, Ina Mae Bucklew of Hurricane, Dora Piazza of Glade Farms; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his dog, Pierre.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta (Casteel) Cuppett in 1958; his second wife of 52 years, Barbara Ann Cuppett in 2013; one brother, Emerson Blaine Cuppett; two sisters, Darlene Sweeney, Marilyn Kay King; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Ann Rosenberger.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street on Saturday, February 27, 2016, from 11:00 a.m.
