Robert Altman, age 88, of Algona passed away on Sunday January 3, 2021 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Robert Aloysius Altman, the son of John B. and Eulalia (Gales) Altman, was born on September 21, 1932 in Algona, Iowa. Robert was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 and was stationed in Upper Hayford, England. On January 17, 1959 Robert married Marietta Dawn Bittner in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They were later divorced. Robert enjoyed reading especially the bible and family vacations. He also loved spending time with his family and following his grandkids in their activities. Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his children, George (Kristi) Altman of Bondurant, Karen Altman-Bandura of Gilbert, AZ, Lisa (Art) Ferguson of Scottsdale, AZ, Tim (Barbara) Altman of Algona and Jamie (Jeanne) Altman of Algona; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, John Altman of Phoenix, AZ and Thomas (Marlene) Altman of Irvington; and a sister, Dianna Roeder of Algona. He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Marietta; a son, Nick Altman; and 2 brothers, Eldon Altman and Merlyn Altman.
