Robert Allen Lieder, age 83, of Salem, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Circle of Care in Salem, surrounded by his family. He was born April 14, 1933 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Paul and Ann (Miller) Lieder.
Robert was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School, and worked at the Eljer Co. in Salem for 40 years. He was a member of the Real Life Assembly of God, and Salem AMVETS Post 45.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
His wife, Elsie I. (Sommers) Lieder, whom he married December 10, 1951 preceded in death on January 15, 1996; a sister, Barbara Marple; three brothers, Jack, Donald and Charles Lieder; and son in law, John Planisky also preceded him in death.
He is survived by 4 daughters, Dianna (Randy) Bleakley, Carol Planisky, and Deborah “Debbie” (Terry) Steele all of Salem, and Roberta “Bobbie” (Robert) Birk of Salem; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
