Meyer, Robert A. passed away Friday evening December 6, 2019

. Robert was born May 7, 1946 in Huntington, Indiana a son of Alfred and Marjorie (Scher) Meyer.

He has lived in the area for 36 years. He retired from his 30-year trucking career in 2000. After retirement, he enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

He was a life-long motorcycle enthusiast and member of the American Motorcycle Association has owned over 45 motorcycles in his lifetime – logging thousands and thousands of miles traveling all over the United States and Canada with his wife Kay at his side; in their younger years, motorcycle trips often included all of their children and family dog as well.

He loved planting flowers in his yard for all to enjoy. He had a language of his own that his family had to sometimes translate for others – it didn’t matter what your name was, he would come up with his name for you and that was what he would always call you – even his bikes had names.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will truly be missed.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents. On September 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Kay L. (Kimmel) Meyer who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Kenneth (Julie) Meyer of Plainwell, Angela (Dan) Crouch of Kalamazoo, and Joseph (Stacey) Meyer of Paw Paw; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 6 siblings, Ronald (Pauline) Meyer of North Manchester, IN, Carol (James) Krumanaker of Andrews, IN, Gary (Emily) Meyer of Huntington, IN, Marla (Ken) Johnson of Andrews, IN, Dan (Marinda) Meyer of Huntington, IN, and Kathy (Mark) Beckman of Garrett, IN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
