Robert (Bob) A. Hoke, age 54, of Rte 46, Westernville, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 as a result of a motorcycle accident in Oswego County.

Bob was born January 27, 1958 to Michael L. and Jeanette Warcup Hoke. He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Western. Shortly after graduating from RFA, Bob enlisted in the US Army serving honorably from 1977 to 1980. He was employed by Spargo Wire and Rome Strip Steel and served as the Town’s of Western and Steuben Codes Enforcement Officer.

Bob enjoyed hunting and putzing around on his tractors and bulldozers creating ponds, islands, and trails he would name for his children. Most of all he enjoyed a good laugh. You always knew when Bob was in the room; his raucous laugh could be heard a mile away. Bob surely began breaking someone’s chops as he passed through the pearly gates.

Bob was a member of the Westernville Presbyterian Church and the Westernville Volunteer Fire Co.

Bob is survived by his children Robert, Kylie, and Andrew all of Manchester CT; along with the mother of his children Karen DiBella. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanette Schwertfeger of Reno NV; a sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Joe Sciorilli, Rome; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Chris Hoke, Westernville; brother and sister-in-law Darrin and Linda Hoke of Lake Charles, LA; special granddaughter Hannah Lohr, Rome and numerous nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends that shared in Bob’s laughter. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Mickey Hoke in 1984.
