Robert A. Wolfe, 86, of Springfield, Va., formerly of West Haven, beloved husband of the late Margaret “Migs” Hurley Wolfe, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Greenspring Village Hospice, Springfield, Va. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Schroff Wolfe. Son of the late Frederick F. and Florence R. (Pfaff) Wolfe, he was born in West Haven, on March 15, 1922. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WW II and received the Purple Heart Medal. Bob was co-owner, along with his late brother Fred, of Wolfe’s Bakeries Inc. in West Haven until his retirement. He was a 50 year member and Paul Harris Fellow of the West Haven Rotary Club, former Commissioner of the West Haven Center Fire District and before moving to Virginia, was a long time member of the Race Brook Country Club. Survivors include two daughters Kathleen M. Davies of Alexandria, VA. and Margo E. Gallinoto of Ponder, TX., two sons, Robert A. Wolfe Jr. of Chicago IL., and Ronald C. Clark of Madison, CT., four loving grandchildren, and four cherished great-grandchildren.
