Robert A. White, 93, Sparta, died May 28, 2005 at White County Hospital, Sparta, Tennessee after an extended illness.
He was born June 18, 1911 in Alexandria, Indiana, and was an Anderson resident prior to moving to Sparta, Tennessee.
He retired from Pratt-Whitney Aircraft in 1972. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anderson and St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sparta, Tennessee.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Anderson. He was involved with Society of St. Vincent dePaul. He was an Oblate with the Benedictine Monistary in Beech Grove. He was very faithful in visiting with the sick.
He is survived by his two daughters, Emily & husband Steve Smith of Sparta, Tennessee and Roberta & husband Richard Schuyler of Alexandria; five grandchildren, Nancy Parr, Mike & wife Cheryl Schuyler, Steve Schuyler, Jim & wife Suzanne Smith and Leanne & husband Mark Fay; twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife, Nellie Alexander White in 1992; parents, William & Philomena Mehling White; sister, Mary Madelyn White; brother, Charlie White and two grandchildren, Richard Schuyler and Jeffrey Scott Smith.
