Robert A. Trapp, Sr., 83, of Galien, Michigan died Thursday morning, December 16, 2010, at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles, Michigan.
Bob was born October 24, 1927 in Weesaw Township to Charles and Alma (Krumrie) Trapp. He graduated from Galien High School in 1947. Bob married Mary Reitz on April 1, 1953 in Glendora. He was employed at Bendix Corporation in South Bend, Indiana, retiring in 1985. Bob was a member of UAW Local 9, South Bend, Indiana. He farmed and was a livestock hauler.
Bob enjoyed visiting with the farmers while he was making his rounds. He also enjoyed deer hunting. Bob was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora. Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Freida (John) Keefer of Galien and Cheryl (David) Nicely of Three Oaks, Michigan; grandchildren, Taya Rohl, Roberta Jo Lawson, Katrina Schneider, Michelle Nicely, David Nicely Jr and Derek Nicely; great grandchildren, Zeke, Case, Brayden, Maxwell, Morgan, David III and Paige; and sisters Edith Klemm of Stevensville, Michigan and Eleanore Reitz of Three Oaks. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert A. Trapp Jr. on April 28, 1974; and by his sisters, Elsie Geminder, Eva Richter and Alice Bronson and brothers, Kenneth, Leo, and Albert.
