Robert Augustus Stolp, a long time resident of Flagstaff, passed away June 13, 2006 at The Peaks with family at his side. Mr. Stolp was born June 6, 1917 in West Hazelton, PA to Andrew and Anna Stolp and became a permanent resident in Flagstaff in 1958.
Mr. Stolp served in the Army Airforce in WWII. He was the owner of R&M Garage Doors and a US Post Office contractor serving the Mormon Lake, Happy Jack, and Clints Wells area for 27 years until retiring in 1989. He loved fishing and bowling.
He was a past president and honorary member of Flagstaff-Hall of Fame Bowling Association. He was also a lifetime member of BPOE 499, and the American Legion Post #3 for 46 years. He was proud to be recovering AA member for the past 42 years and helping those in need to live one day at a time.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maryann; son Robert (Ginger) of Apple Valley, CA; daughter, Rolene Johnston (Charlie) of Flagstaff, AZ; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
