Robert A. Hendricks, 81, of Galesburg, died at 8:38 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Bob was born on January 20, 1929, the son of Arthur and Marie (Tipton) Hendricks.
He married Joyce Nemeth on February 28, 1950, in Galesburg.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joyce of Galesburg; 2 sons, John of Galesburg and Phillip (and Jonna) of Abingdon; 3 daughters, Kris Hendricks of Wataga, Diane Lambrecht of Morton, and Lori (and Jim) Pickrel of Galesburg; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Larry (and Maxine) of Galesburg; and a sister, Marilyn Hayes of Galesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.
Bob attended Galesburg Schools. He served in the United States Navy. Bob was a supervisor at OMC Gale Products for 30 years, retiring in 1980. After retirement, he worked part-time at Wareco and Option Care. Bob umpired and coached little league in Galesburg for many years. He was an avid golfer and Galesburg Girls Silver Streaks fan. He kept scoring for girls basketball for several years. Bob was a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan. Bob was of the Methodist faith.
