Robert A. Castle, 78 of Freeport formerly of Downers Grove died Monday, January 28, 2013, at the Stephenson Nursing Center. Born May 2, 1934, in Chicago he was the son of Delbert and Louise (Brandenburg) Castle.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. On August 2, 1958, he and Jean A. Skorupa were united in marriage at St. Eugene’s Chicago, IL. In 1991 after 25 years he retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in Oakbrook. Bob was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Freeport.
Surviving are his wife Jean of Freeport, son William (Sandra) Castle of Lisle, and grandson Christopher.
Preceding him in death were his parents, infant brother, and son John.
Bob loved his family, travel, music, and animals, especially his loyal Chow Chow. His sense of humor was contagious. He loved to make people laugh.
