Robert A. Black, 87, LaSalle, died Thursday morning, February 15, at his home. Mr. Black was born January 6, 1920 in Dimmick Township to William and Mary (Rowe) Black. He married Lorraine Fitzgerald on August 23, 1946 at St. Patricks Church in Arlington, Illinois. He served in the Army during WWII.
He was owner and operator of R.A. Black Trucking, Little Vermillion Boarding Stables and Stock Farm for 70 years. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Donna Peterson of Walnut, Jane (Dave) Eitutis of Troy Grove and Margo Forney of Peru; one son, Bill Black of Dimmick; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one grand-daughter and three brothers.
