Robbins Lee “Rob” Wolke, 75, of Jacksonville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Passavant Area Hospital. He was born March 26, 1939, in Jacksonville, the son of the late John “Pete” and Aileen Robbins Wolke. Rob married Viola Flynn on April 2, 1967, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2013.
Survivors include his second-mother, Shirley Wolke of Concord; daughter, Robbins Love (Greg) Pate of Gig Harbor, WA; son, R.J. (Charity) Wolke of Chatham, IL; seven grandchildren, Hannah, Michael, Adam, and Landon Pate, and Faith, David, and Avidan Wolke; three brothers and one sister, Brad (Marsha) Wolke of St. Peters, MO, Gary (September) Wolke of Auburn, Dianne (Steve) Carson of Mahomet, and Brian (Darlene) Wolke of rural Winchester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rob was a 1958 graduate of Jacksonville High School. In his earlier years, he was employed by L.E. Meyers, Contract Materials, and Perry-Broughton. He also worked with his father in the carpentry business. Rob was an intellectually gifted auto mechanic and enjoyed building drag racing engines and riding his motorcycle.
