Ritchie Ronald Stangel, Sr., age 56, of Longville, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Saturday, June 5th, 2021 from the St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born to Gloria (Reier) and Felix Stangel on January 5th, 1965 in Cass Lake, MN.
Ritchie was a very strong and independent man who lived off the land by ricing, bough picking and leeching. Ritchie felt strongly about teaching his children how to be self sufficient and learning the ways of their tradition. He was always there to help others in their time of need. Ritchie enjoyed spending a lot of time with his grandchildren, going to the casino, visiting with family and working on his ice racer and stock cars.
He is welcomed to the spirit world by his parents; Felix Stangel and Gloria (Barney) Durkee, brothers; Todd Sr. and Eugene Stangel and many aunties and uncles.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons; Michael (Traci Campbell) Stangel, Eugene (Michelle) Stangel and Ritchie (Kali Koch) Stangel, daughters; Katie (Dalton Young) Stangel and Marissa (Jay Feiock) Stangel, brothers; Robert “Robbie”, Brad (Lyle), Stacey and Timmy (Theresa) Stangel, sister; Gloria Jean Stangel, his 14 grandbabies, many nieces, nephews, other family members and a lot of close friends.
