Rita T. Tabara, 88, of Glastonbury died on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Tabara. Born in Meriden, she was a Newington resident most of her life, moving to Glastonbury a few years ago. Mrs. Tabara was an active member of Holy Spirit Church, the Newington Democratic Town Committee and enjoyed activities at the Newington Senior Center. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Carol and Ken Hovland, her son and daughter-in-law James and Joann Tabara all of Glastonbury, her sisters Lydia Tiezzi and Jean Kaczmarczyk, four grandchildren: Michael Ross and his wife Kelly of Coventry, Kristopher Hovland of Atlanta, GA, Jilliann and Evan Tabara of Glastonbury and two great grandchildren Jackson and Shelby. Rita’s family would like to thank everyone at Brookdale Assisted Living, especially “the girls of 309” for all the care and compassion they gave to Rita during her time there.
