Rita Marjorie (Kress) Callahan, 93, passed away on June 27, 2021. She was born on March 9, 1928 to Anthony Kress and Helen (Schick) Kress. Rita is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Henry Kress (Helen), Wilbur Kress (Martha); sisters Catherine Butts (Virgil), Betty Piker (Walter), and sister-in-law Marge Kress. Rita is survived by her husband of 72 years Robert, the two married September 4, 1948; daughter Cheryl Thornton (Don) of Terre Haute; grandsons Nathan (Lauren) of Noblesville and Tyler of Chicago; three great-grandchildren Lucas, Eloise, and Lydia; brother Robert Kress and many nieces and nephews. Rita graduated from St. Patrick’s Girls High School in Terre Haute. She was a resident of St. Mary of the Woods Village for 51 years prior to moving to Cobblestone Health Campus in 2018.
