Poulsbo, WA- Rita Marie Hoffman a 85 year resident of Norwich, passed away peacefully at home in Poulsbo as was her wish. Rita was predeceased by her husband Harold John Hoffman, Sr., in March of 1989, and her husband Burdette Flynn in January of 2008. Rita is survived by her children, Judith Ellen (Michael), Susan Elizabeth (Michael), Harold John, Jr., David Paul (Susan); son in law Kevin; daughter in law Marylou (Daniel) and Nancy Jean, along with many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son William Francis; and her daughter in law Deborah C. Hoffman
Rita was born in Norwich, a child of William C. and Eva A. LaRochelle. A proud graduate of Norwich Free Academy in 1943, and Wilson School of Laboratory Science in Boston in 1944, she lived in Norwich and raised her family there until she moved to Poulsbo, Washington in 2010. She is the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Rita was an active community member in Norwich and at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish for much of her life. She enjoyed her family, friends, traveling, music, and sports.
