Karen Coon passed away peacefully on August 27, 2007, surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 7, 1943, in Collingswood ,NJ, she was the daughter of the late Col. USAF Robert Patrick Loughrey, and Rita Ann James of Atlanta, GA and Destin, FL. Karen is survived by her husband of 21 years, retired Major USAF Richard K. Coon.
She is also survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann and her husband Phil McLeod of Hemet, CA.; sister Marilyn L. and her husband C.S. Johnson of Sidney, Iowa; brothers Robert P. Loughrey, Jr. of New York City and Lt. Col. USAF John C. and his wife, A. Denise Loughrey, of Gulf Breeze, FL. Karen is survived as well by Richard’s children: Christine M. Slate and her husband Jeb, and David W. Coon.
Eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of friends, will miss her love.
Karen began her career at The Bank of America, Brentwood, CA, retiring as a personal banker and loan counselor at First National Bank & Trust, Ft. Walton Beach.
