Rita J. Wittbecker, 82, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born September 12, 1932 in Belleville, Illinois she was the daughter of Frank and Rita (Lueckemeyer) Schmitz. She married Donald J. Wittbecker June 22, 1957 and he died August 25, 1996.
Rita worked at Newell and for the VFW for 22 years.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Karen Posey of Loves Park and Rick (Linda) Posey of German Valley; her grandchildren, Christopher (Krystle) Posey of Pearl City, Allison (Christian) Gabroy of Henderson, Nevada and Katherine (Eric) Sneek of Pecatonica; her great grandchildren, Miranda and Alonna Posey of Pearl City, Cosette Gabroy of Henderson, Nevada, and Ryne Sneek of Pecatonica; her sister, Bernice Vogel of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters.
