Rita Colette Radvila was a most generous, kind, loving and considerate human being. She passed away on September 14, 2021 at St. Joseph’s hospital in Denver, Colorado. The challenge of her many health complications did not overshadow a life well lived.
She was born into a Lithuanian family in Chicago, Illinois in 1943. Her parents Joseph and Catherine raised Rita and her brother Dennis in Chicago and Phoenix, Arizona. She spent her formative years riding horses in the Arizona winters. She raised a family with Al Radvila. They moved from Chicago to Denver in the late 60s, where they could enjoy the outdoors and beautiful mountains. Rita received a degree from the Metropolitan State College (now University), where she also worked for many years as a Personnel Director, supporting many student with work-study programs. She retired at 55 and spent her retirement as a small business owner. She was an expert in the procurement and selling of collectibles and antiques. Rita enjoyed traveling, food and cooking, collecting Native American pottery, classic movies and a good bargain!!!
She is survived by daughters Rita, Victoria (Avram), and Sonja/Kristi; grandchildren, Ashley (Jonathan), Ty, Tori, and Dana; great grandchildren Eva and Indy, sister-in-law Gerti, life partner Abdessalem and his son Hamza.
