Ricky Lynn Burgess was born on November 22, 1966 in Decatur, Alabama to the late J.C. and Leola Stover Burgess. He was born into eternity on October 23, 2016 at Decatur Morgan Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ricky attended West Morgan School and was employed as a stacker at Littrell Lumber Company. He also was previous employed at Valley Stockyard.
Rick loved the outdoors and enjoyed being with his family and friends. He will be thoroughly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, J.C. and Leola Burgess; one child, Johnelle Nicholas.
He leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Courtney Sykes, Ricky Nicholas, Bobby Nicholas and J.C. Nicholas; four sisters, Jessie Burgess, Queenester Burgess, Jeanette (Richard) McDaniel and Shirley (James) Crayton; three brothers, Willie (Tammy) Burgess, Anthony (Jackie) Burgess and Michael (Vicki) Burgess; one devoted niece, Amy Goode; one devoted nephew, Timothy Burgess; one devoted and loving friend, Kathy Elliott; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
