Ricky Day Davis, of Eureka, passed away January 1st, 2023. He was born November 30, 1960, in Oakland, California.
“Our brother Ricky was the one always ready to crack a joke, and more often than not, it was offside with a smirk. Those that knew him felt his presence in his fiercely protective nature of those he loved. He was vocally proud of his siblings, having nicknames for us all, whether we liked them or not. Ricky loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and passed on his tricks of the trades. He will live on in us all, having ingrained his sense of humor in some of us, and his good looks to the rest. We know you’re hunting the biggest bucks with our dad, highball in hand to celebrate after. We are proud to have been your family and are lucky to have another angel in the outfield. Until we meet again, brother”
Ricky loved with his whole heart and his generous spirit could get him into trouble sometimes, but if he had something that you needed, he would be the first to give it. Ricky loved his beloved dog and companion, Spyder, with his whole heart, and it was very mutual. If you’ve seen Rick, you’ve seen Spyder. He loved music, playing horseshoes, singing karaoke at Jerry’s Saloon in Fortine, Montana, hunting, fishing, camping, and always told me that when you see a rainbow, know it’s me looking down on you and protecting you. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
Ricky is survived by his wife, April (Turner) Davis; daughter Elizabeth Davis and son, Ryece Davis, both of California; his always faithful and devoted companion, Spyder; step mother, Jennifer Curtiss of Eureka; his siblings, Erik Davis of Eureka, Rochelle “Rocky” (Davis) Smith of Canada, Nikki Davis, Debbie (Davis) Martin of California; grandchildren, Angelina Ramirez, Bella Rae Sturgis and Laylani Sturgis all of California; step children Jamie, Kendra, Joy and Jerry; and several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Roger and Kathleen Ann (Dowdey) (Davis) George.
