Rick “Ricky” S. Bro was born on August 1, 1947, and passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the age of 66. He was the son of Jackie & Forest Briggs. Rick lived at the Idaho State School in Nampa for many years. In 1988 he moved to Boise where he was a pioneer for others with disabilities living independently and being a part of his community.
Rick worked at the ARC in Boise. Going to work was one of the most important things in his life. Nothing made him happier than cashing his check and having dollars in his wallet. Rick was known for his love of music. He was rarely seen without his radio and headphones.
Rick is survived by his niece, Jayme Graham of Meridian; brother, Mark Lindsey of Boise; roommate, Rena Mae Smith; friend, Dawn Downum, and countless others that were touched by Rick’s life.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jaylee Graham; mother, Jackie; and stepfather, Forest Briggs.
A special thanks to all of the people that worked side by side with Rick on a daily basis helping him to live independently for the past 25 years.
