Richard Wilson “Rick” Penington, 54, of Meredosia, IL, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at his home.
He was born Sept. 4, 1967, in Jacksonville, the son of Richard Kemper and Louise Wilson Penington.
He is survived by his brother, Rob Penington of Chicago; uncle, John Wilson; and seven first cousins, Van Wilson, Doug Wilson, Eric Wilson, Brad Miller, Susan Menner, Darrell Eden and Jobie Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two aunts, Barbara Miller and Vergene Corbitt; and one cousin, David Corbitt.
Rick graduated from Meredosia-Chambersburg High School in 1985 and later graduated from Illinois College in 1989. He worked for the State of Illinois and most recently was an activity coordinator for Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI) in Jacksonville, where he especially enjoyed taking the students on field trips. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, was a big Illini fan, and loved to watch football. He also enjoyed going down to the Illinois River to watch the eagles.
