Richard Wayne Robishaw, 58, of Bryans Road, MD died September 1, 2015, at Fort Washington Medical Center.

Born May 16, 1957, in Watsonville, CA, he was the son of the late William A. Robishaw and Emily F. Robishaw.

Richard graduated from Watsonville High School and Columbia College.

He was employed for 25 years with the U.S. Navy and Department of the Navy/Naval District Washington as an Operation Officer.  While assigned to USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2) during the Persian Gulf War, Lieutenant Robishaw successfully became the U.S. Navy’s first Security Limited Duty Officer to achieve the Surface Warfare Officer designator and pin.  He enjoyed golfing, bike riding and camping.  His family and his granddaughters brought him the most enjoyment in life.  He was most proud of his sons. He was an exceptional story teller, had an infectious sense of humor and was quick wit.  His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 107:28-30.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nora Robishaw.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Beth A. Robishaw (Leininger); whom he married September 16, 1978; siblings, Diana Robishaw and William A. Robishaw, II; sons, Sean C. Robishaw and Keith R. Robishaw; daughters-in-law, Jennifer Robishaw and Lavendar Robishaw; and grandchildren, Madalyn E. Robishaw and Adalyn G. Robishaw.
