Richard W. Garner, 85, of LaSalle, passed away August 8, 2014 at Banner Garden Hospice in Mesa, AZ.
Mr. Garner was born September 28, 1928 in Peru to Glen and Elizabeth (Hackman) Garner. He married Darlene Clark on February 25, 1948 at St. Hyacinth’s Church, LaSalle. He was a third generation employee of Westclox in Peru working as a data processing supervisor for 32 years. He then worked at American Nickeloid in Peru as a data processing supervisor until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and bowler all his life.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Darlene; 2 sons, Richard (Jean) Garner of Western Spring, IL and Donald (Peg) Garner of Peru; 5 grandchildren, Jason, Brett, Chad, and Matthew Garner and Jennifer Weber and 2 great-grandchildren, Bradyn and Logan Weber. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be his 4 grandsons, Jason, Brett, Chad, and Matthew Garner, and Dave Meyer, Henry Hackman, and John Konczak.
