New HartfordSCHULTZ- Richard W. Schultz, Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He was the loving husband of the late Mary (Bancroft) Schultz for 49 years. Born on September 25, 1926 in Newington, CT: the son of the late William C. and Lena (Kraus) Schultz. He was a longtime resident of New Hartford, prior to moving to FLA. Richard served in WWII, in the Navy, as a seaman first class. Richard retired from the Torin Company. His hobby was woodworking, he was very creative and could design a plan for any requests. He enjoyed working on automobiles with his sons, but was not limited to just any one thing, if it was broken he could fix it. Always willing to help or teach anyone who asked. He held a very special spot in his children’s lives as well as his grand-children’s. He has influenced his family with such a positive outlook on life. Richard will be remembered for his quick smile and bright blue eyes. He is survived by his children; Richard W. Schultz, Jr., of Granby, William (Kathy) Schultz of Simsbury, Patricia (Joseph) Brown of Avon, Barbara (Gordon) Hood of Barkhamsted, Thomas (April) Schultz of Winsted and Carol (Keith) Antiuk of East Granby; a brother-in-law, John Turek, and sister-in-laws Evelyn Schultz, Eileen (Lonnie) Cantrell; 16 grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsay, Kelsey, Rob, Damon, Jacob, Ryan, Christina, Regina, Gordon, Travis, Jesse, Alicia, Amber and Jeremy; and 13 great grandchildren, Elijah, Benjamin, Matthew, Logan, Alexandra, Isabella, Kirsten, Ryan, Alex, Zachary, Brendan, Cameron, and Kelan, in addition to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Donald, Robert, Raymond and Allen; a sister, Virginia Turek and longtime friend, Beverly Carothers.
