Richard W. Newman, 71, of Aurora passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 after a 4 month fight with Melanoma. “Dick” was born in Hastings, Nebraska. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska where he was an honorable member of Phi Beta Kappa, Society of Innocents, and Sigma Chi Fraternity. He received his MBA at the University of Denver. He is survived by his wife Elinor, daughter Sandra (Tim) Vandel, step-daughter’s Susan McEwen and Nancy (Richard) Warner, eight step-grandchildren, and many other close family members and friends. Throughout his life, he was a prominent figure in the Denver business community through his CPA firm and Frontier Bank. He and Elinor also reside in their home in Wailea Maui, Hawaii six months a year.
