Richard Steve Clay, 80 years old, passed away on November 29, 2016. He entered this world on November 28, 1936 in Timpson, Texas born to George and Gladys Clay. After serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps., he graduated from Stephen F. Austin College. He settled in Baton Rouge and worked in industrial insulation for Hullinghorst Industries and Iberville Insulation. Lovingly nicknamed “Triky” for his sly, impish sense of humor. He was loved by friends and family and never met a stranger. Happy trails to him, until we meet again.
Richard is survived by his wife, Judy Vasbinder Clay; daughter, Laura Clay Ferguson, husband, Daniel J. Ferguson, Jr.; grandson, Ryan Steve Ferguson, wife, Erin Gauthier; and brother, Travis Clay, Jr.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, George Travis and Gladys Clay; and brother, Harold Clay.
