Richard was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 4, 2014 at the age of 60, following a valiant and lengthy battle with cancer.  Richard passed away in the loving arms of his wife Donna at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida.  Born the son of Carlos and Shirley Crandall in Jackson, MI, Rick left home at the age of 18 and proudly served his country for 13 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Donna Crandall; his son, James Crandall; daughter, Elizabeth Crandall, step-sons, Jeremy and Benjamin Wahl, parent, Carl Crandall, sister, Debrah (Larry) Gerth, grandchildren, Jaden, Jayla, Hayden, Alisa, Hannah, and Emily; sister in-law, Dianne (Ron) Gallahair, and many loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was the most optimistic person anyone could ever meet. He was everyone’s cheerleader. “You can do it, You can do anything you put your mind to”!  His words and spirit will forever resonate with everyone he touched.

Rick’s motto in life,”I’ve had a great life, I have a wonderful family and friends and have no regrets.  If I leave today, I will have lived the best life surrounded by the best family and friends”. “Don’t Give Up, Don’t Ever Give Up”.
