Richard Shinn, 59, of Ft. Wayne passed away in peace at home with his family by his side on Wednesday February 18, 2015, after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
Born in Freeport, IL, Richard spent most of his growing up and young adult years in Plymouth, MI before moving to Ft. Wayne with his family in 1995. Richard proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, and retired from General Motors after 35 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-five years Janet (Kenny), son Alan, and daughters Jessica and Rachel all of Ft. Wayne. Also surviving is his sister Elizabeth (Larry) of Novi, MI and brothers John of Chino Hills, CA and Jeff of Logansport, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and JoAnn (Scagnoli) Shinn.
