Richard Rodger “Rick” Buxton, 61, of Moberly, passed away November 23, 2019 in his home surrounded by family. He was born July 5, 1958 in Warrenton, MO to the late Rodger and Carol A. (Roetemeyer) Buxton.
Rick moved to Moberly with his family in 1974; where he met the love of his life Katherine “Kathy” Schmidt and they were married September 2, 1978 in Moberly and she survives; also surviving are his children; Michelle Cockerham and husband Walter, Ashley Patrick and husband Jeremy and Greg Buxton and wife Samantha, eight grandchildren; Jared and Lauren Herron, Avery Cockerham, Drew and Jenna Patrick, Caleb, Colton and Conner Buxton, a sister, Brenda Todd and her husband Bob all of Moberly, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
You could always find Rick, at any given time, on his farm; tinkering with his tractors or figuring out his sheep herd. He enjoyed traveling around, riding his horse and camping with his family. On most Friday nights you would catch him at the Moberly Spartans football stadium rooting for his grandson. Rick was an avid hunter and just a year before his death he fulfilled his dream of harvesting a bull elk. Rick was always ready with a smile and loved to impart his wealth of knowledge on anyone who would listen! His biggest joy in life, over everything else, was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
