Mr. Richard Robert Nichols, age 75, beloved husband of Cora M. Ryan Nichols of Oxford, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2006 in CT Hospice, Branford. Son of the late Charles N. and Florence Bevans Nichols, he was born on June 13, 1931 in Bridgeport. He served 20 years in the National Guard. Mr. Nichols was a machine operator for Milford Rivet until his retirement and an avid pool player with the Shelton Senior Center. In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Susan K. Martovich and her husband Marty of Oxford, a son, Daniel M. Nichols and his wife Tracy of Trumbull, three grandchildren, a brother, Charles Nichols and his wife Louise, of Milford, and a sister, Flora “Mert” Ransdell and her husband Chuck of Westchester, OH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley H. and William Nichols.
