Richard R. Wismer, age 63 of Midland, passed away Monday May 22, 2017 at his residence. The son of Roy H. and Georgetta M. (Marcy) Wismer was born on July 5, 1953 in Midland where he was raised and educated.
Richard served in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1976 during the Vietnam War. He was employed with the Midland County Road Commission until his retirement in 2010 after 25 years of service. Richard enjoyed spending time working in his yard, being a good provider for his family, spending time with kids and grand-kids, doing mechanical projects and was also a good prankster.
Surviving is his wife of 37 years the former Connie Pomranky of whom he married in Midland on March 15, 1980; children, Misty (Greg) Weiskirch of Merrill, Seth (Amanda) Wismer, Danielle Wismer all of Midland; grandchildren, Meg, Gabe, Lea, Kali, Connor and Addison; parents, Roy and Georgetta Wismer; brother, Donald (Bertha) Wismer of Grawn, MI; sisters, Norma (Keith) Goward of Merrill, Donna (Barry) Hollingshead of Midland; many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by a niece, Letha Wismer; nephew, Tristan Goward; mother and father in law, Jack and Marge Pomranky; sister in law, Julie Wismer.
