Richard R. James, 70 of New Buffalo, Michigan died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago. Richard was born March 3, 1944 in Michigan City, Indiana to Russell and Florence (Gable) James. He attended New Buffalo Schools. He married Marcella Fellows on December 26, 1964 in Three Oaks, Michigan.

Richard was a hard worker and was employed as a diesel mechanic, retiring from Central Transport in New Buffalo. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed collecting dye cast cars, Duck Dynasty memorabilia, and treasures from auctions he attended. Family was important to Richard. He wanted his family to be happy and was always watching out for them.

Richard dearly loved his grandchildren and was so proud of them.Survivors include his wife, Marcella; children Richard “Dickie” James of New Buffalo; Dawn (Gene) Murphy of Bridgman; Marcie (Scot) Miles of Three Oaks; Michelle James of Three Oaks; Gregory James of New Buffalo and Bradley James of New Buffalo; grandchildren, Dillon, Kylie, Kayme, Haylie, Blake, Brandon, Jessica, Jennica, Gabrielle, Dakota, Avery, Alayna, Aaron, Trevor, Travis, Addison and Brooklyn; great grandchildren, Sadie, Jason, Tori, Colten and Arielle; sisters, Barbara Bolton of Three Oaks and Sharon Motycka of New Buffalo; brothers Gordon James of New Buffalo, Raymond (Jean) James of New Buffalo and Terry James (Karen Cummings) of Three Oaks; and brothers-in-law Ron Schroeder and Tony Motycka.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sisters Shirley Schroeder; JoAnne Motycka and Judith Bohne and his brother, Larry James.
