Richard “Puffer” Green, Jr., age 79, of Edgewater died Wednesday, December 30, 2008 at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach.
Born in Yardville, New Jersey, Mr. Green served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a lineman for P.S.E. and G. before moving to New Smyrna Beach in 1999. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a member of the Fin, Fur and Feather Club in Creamridge, New Jersey, and loved gardening and woodworking.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gertrude; 2 sons, Richard III and his wife Susan, of Florence, New Jersey, Bruce and his girlfriend Ellen Beard, of Springhill, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Megan and Christopher Green of Florence, Amanda and Michelle Green of Springhill, and a sister, Audrey Cash of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon Civinski of Springhill.
