Richard P. “Dick” Canter, 65, passed away Friday Dec. 13, 2013 in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
Dick was born April17, 1948 in Indianapolis to Richard P. and Virginia H. (Fleener) Canter.
He married Jo Anna Leslie on April 26, 1974 in Jeffersonville; they were married for 39 years.
Dick was a self employed painter for 23 years.
He enjoyed watching westerns, reading and scratch off lotto tickets. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. Richard touched many hearts by helping people.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Anna Canter of Franklin, three children, William (Beverly) Canter, Trinity (Scott) Wadsworth and Richard T.Shea (Ashley) Canter all of Franklin, two sisters, Sally Jones of Franklin and Kathleen Turner, nine grandchildren, Jason, Dylan, Phillip, Alexis, Brooklyn, Shaylee Canter, Renee Jones, Gary Lunsford and Ethan Early, a great-grandchild, Faith Brothers, five nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Canter.
