Richard Janerious Ortego, Sr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the age of 92. He was a loving, devoted husband and father.
He leaves behind his wife of 71 years Nola Lacour Ortego; his children, Marilyn Dufrene (Gary), Cathy Vienne (David), Donna Keller (Julian), Richele Jenkins (Mike), Richard Ortego, Jr., (Cherie), and Rhonda Anchissi (Jorge). Loving grandfather to Frankie, Pepper (Justin), Ashley, Taylor (Alexis), Lindsey (Brison), Scott, Haley, Michael, Katie, and Kelley. Great-grandfather to Madison, Kellan, and Robin.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Angela Ortego; siblings, Helen St. Romain, Naydee Ducote, Ledell Rabalais, and Leeward Ortego; and daughter, Janelle Ortego.
