It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Robert Ortega aka Bobby. On October 28th 2014, Bobby passed away suddenly with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer.
He was a long-time resident of Oxnard. Born on February 28, 1951 to Richard and Norma Ortega, Bobby enjoyed living life to the fullest, always positive and upbeat. He was a United States Marine and was very proud to have served his country. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard worker. Working for and retiring from 3M after 30 years.
Bobby also worked as a security guard for the Oxnard Mushroom Plant and for the County of Ventura. He was a great provider and always made people laugh with his incredibly sense of humor. He loved dancing and barbequing with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father Richard Ortega and is survived by his loving wife Rosie of 37 years. His loving daughter Danielle and his grandkids, Mekayla, Ciara, Jayden, Kaleb, and Ashlyn. His loving son Richard Jr. and his grandkids, Richard III, Miah, and Hailey. His loving son James and his granddaughter Jade. His sisters Mary and Sandy, his brother Johnny and also his mother Norma.
