Richard Ora Wilkins, 88, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on January 9, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma. He was born on July 3, 1932, in Anderson, the son of Raymond A. and Florence Mae (DeLong) Wilkins.
Richard graduated from Anderson High School in 1951 and Purdue University in 1955 with a degree in engineering. He was extremely proud to be a professional engineer. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Masonic Fellowship Lodge, #681, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriner’s, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Richard retired from the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors after 32 years of service, having worked as an engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Scarborough) Wilkins; son, Roger (Shelley) Wilkins; daughter, Pam (David) Wilkins-Street, and son, Ron (Laura) Wilkins; stepchildren, Jan Jolley-Kirby, and Karen White; grandchildren, Joshua Wilkins, Jenny (Mike) Wren, Jon (Amela) Burk, and Galen Street; several step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Charlotte Dare Wilkins; siblings, Robert Wilkins and Patricia Wilkins-Olsen; and stepson, Kenneth Jolley.
