  Richard Oscar Schroeder was born June 16, 1927 near Midland, Michigan. He graduated from Midland High School in 1945 and joined the USAF in 1948 where he served four                  1950, while stationed at Mtn. Home AFB, he met and married Doris Brown. After his discharge in 1952, they moved to Boise where they lived for 67 years.

 He worked for Dixon Paper Co. (later Expedex) for 37 years, retiring as Administratvie Manager in 1989.

He and Doris spent 34 years traveling in their motorhomes. He enjoyed golfing, playing pinocle, dancing and woodworking. He was a 50-plus year member of the Boise Vista Lions Club where he served in various offices and where he made many lifelong

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Minnie Schroeder, three older brothers, and one younger sister. He is survived by one sister, Shirley Kuipers in Michigan, his wife Doris, his daughter Vicki Smith, her husband Jeff, a granddaughter Courtney Kirk, her husband Greg, their son Camden, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and two sister-in-laws.
