Richard Nelson Davis, resident of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2018 at the Denver Hospice from lung disease/cancer. He is predeceased by his younger brother, Larry, his mother, Darlene Shonkwiler, father, Robert Davis, and is survived by his wife, Barbara Davis.
Born in Lancaster, Ohio, Richard graduated from Granview High School in 1966. He then completed his college degree at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. After college he married Barbara Hendricks, and they lived together for most of their married life in Colorado. For most of his professional life, he was employed as a tax auditor by the IRS.
Richard had a passion for American history, especially about World War II, and was an avid reader. He enjoyed word games, and was one of the few to successfully challenge his mother-in-law to Scrabble.
