Richard Lee “Mutt” Kleinman, age 83, of Salem, died at 4:10 a.m. Friday, August 02, 2013 at the Blossom Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born June 18, 1930 in Salem, a son of the late Dennis and Isabelle (Englert) Kleinman. Mr. Kleinman was a 1948 Salem High School graduate and had been employed at Eljer Company for 25 years. He had previously worked at the Smith Township Garage and had been a bartender. Mutt served with the US Army during the Korean War and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Salem AMVETS Post #45, Salem V.F.W. # 892, and the Slovak Club. He was also a member of the Salem Honor Guard for 30 years. Survivors include four sons, Richard, Eric, Shane and Dennis Kleinman; four sisters, Isabelle Cibula of Salem, Coletta Sneddon of Salem, Mary Henley of Salem and Teresa Patrick of Salem; several grandchildren; and several nephews. Preceding him in death was a grandson, Dustin Kleinman; two brothers, Dennis and James Kleinman; and a sister, Donna Kleinman.
