Richard Paul Murphy 85, of Port Hueneme, California went to be with the Lord on Monday December 16, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard. Richard Murphy was born on November 25, 1928 Buffalo, New York. Richard graduated from Bennett High School, Buffalo, New York 1947. Moved with father and mother to Tucson, Arizona where he worked as a telephone lineman. Richard served in the Korean War 1949 – 1953.
Richard moved to Santa Paula after the war went to work in the Insurance industry while earning a bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering at Northrop Institute of Technology in 1963. Richard went to work at Point Mugu Naval Air Station with the Navy Astronautics Group. Richard earned a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. Richard retired from Point Mugu Navy Astronautics Group in 1981. Richard went on to teach school in the Oxnard School District and Hueneme Christian School Port Hueneme.
Richard was a member of First Assembly of God, Port Hueneme, Calif.
