Richard M. Doran, 55, Anderson, died January 22, 2005, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born April 3, 1949, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and resided in Anderson since 1965. He retired from Brockway Glass after 30 years of service.

He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a member of the Silver Rose. He attended Camp Chesterfield and loved to play chess, work on cars, and ride his motorcycle. He loved computers, music, and most of all being a great husband and father to all his kids. He was a man who did his damnedest.

He is survived by his wife whom he married on November 19th, 1974 in Anderson, Charlea ”Debbie” Ruhl Doran; four children, David Meade of Alexandria and Maranda ”Mandy” & husband Brian Elbert, Melinda ”Lou” Doran, and Heather Doran all of Anderson; four children that he loved as his own, David Foley, Laura Kendall, Crystal Kendall, and Vera Brooks all of Alexandria; special friends, Suzanne Greer, Dan & Diane McKenzie, Bob & Loretta Mace, Paula Mullin, and Joe McClain.

He was preceded by his parents, George & Erma Deule Doran, and his foster parents, Rev. H.E. & Florence Tharp.
