Rick Leipold, 54, of Ottawa, died Monday evening, March 11, 2013, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
Rick was born March 13, 1957 in Ottawa to Donald and Bonnie (Melahn) Leipold, Sr. He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. He married Sue Woodard on August 31, 1985 in Ottawa. He was a member of Christ Community Church and Gideons. He worked at Spring Brook Marina for 10 years, the Bike Rack for 10 years and for the past 4 years he worked for Hope for the Warriors. He enjoyed classic cars.
He is survived by his wife, Sue of Ottawa; his mother, Bonnie of Ottawa; his daughter, Danielle Leipold of Ottawa; his two sons, Rick Leipold of San Francisco, CA and Chris Leipold of Ottawa; his granddaughter, Darbi Leipold; three brothers, Don (Lenise) Leipold of Ottawa, Jerry Leipold of Ottawa and Michael (Estella Daniels) Leipold of St. Paul, MN; one sister, Glenda (David) Emanuelson of Ottawa; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Leipold, Sr. Pallbearers will be Don and Jerry Leipold, Nick Crisman, Buddy Kalka, Brad Johnson and Darrell Grandadam.
