Colonel Richard L. Jones, United States Army, Retired and Security Engineer, 91, died on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
Colonel Jones was born in Marinette, Wisconsin in 1925. He came to Brevard County to accept employment with Planning Research Corporation at Kennedy Space Center in 1980.
Colonel Jones was drafted in 1943 after graduation from Marinette High School.
While caring for his father in Wisconsin he became an investigator with the County Sheriff Department.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Marion of 45 years and his second wife, Dolores of 21 years. His family includes his son Keith and wife, Stephanie of Silver Spring, Maryland, son, Don and wife, Arlene of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania; stepdaughter, Tracy Kent and husband, Thomas of Orlando Florida; stepson, Sam Taber and wife Sheri of East Troy, Wisconsin as well as grandchildren, Victoria, Caroline, Haley, Cliff and Nathan
